PROJECT DURATION

2021–Present

The Project

The project began when a small group of four representatives from different school boards in North Bay, Ontario, contacted JT&Co to address their visual needs for various activities and presentations.

A year later, the initiative expanded as a larger coalition of school boards across Northern Ontario reached out to JT&Co for the creation of impactful social media campaigns aimed at raising awareness of skilled trades as a rewarding career path. In 2023, four additional school boards joined the initiative, further strengthening the effort.

To maximize the impact of these campaigns, JT&Co developed tailored strategic plans each school year, ensuring the messaging resonated with students and highlighted the advantages of skilled trades. The team designed all visual content for the campaigns, creating eye-catching materials that captured attention across various platforms. A streamlined communication platform was also established to facilitate coordination within the larger group, ensuring a cohesive approach to promoting skilled trades throughout the region.

The Challenge

With representatives from various school boards contributing, maintaining clear and consistent communication became challenging, leading to occasional misunderstandings that necessitated the development of a streamlined communication platform. Additionally, the challenge of communicating with students and third parties added another layer of complexity. Navigating the varying policies across school boards further complicated the workflow. Despite these hurdles, JT&Co adapted effectively, ensuring they could continue to deliver impressive results and raise brand awareness for skilled trades across Ontario.

The Results

The OYAP project yielded great positive feedback, with the program benefiting from effective yearly strategic plans and well-executed campaigns. This structure has allowed the school boards to focus on their core educational missions without the burden of managing the promotional efforts themselves. As a result, OYAP has successfully raised awareness for skilled trades as a rewarding career path, enhancing its impact across Ontario while streamlining the communication and coordination efforts among the various stakeholders.
